Before you start.
Granola Business or Enterprise with API access enabled, and Doppel Pro or the trial. Your Granola administrator may restrict available note scopes.
What you can do
- Import selected notes, available personal notes, and their original transcripts.
- Keep Granola-generated summaries labeled separately from original speech, with a link back to the source.
Connect Granola.
Create a Granola personal API key.
In the Granola desktop app, open Settings → Connectors → API keys → Create new key. Select the note access scopes you need, choose Generate API Key, and copy it.
Open Manage sources.
Go to Settings → Integrations → Manage sources. In Selected sources, choose Add account. This is separate from Add integration.
Add your Granola account.
In Add account, choose Granola, enter a recognizable Account label, paste the key into API key or personal access token, and choose Add account. Doppel saves the credential in macOS Keychain.
Choose where the source belongs.
Select Choose source. Set Use in to the intended Doppel project, or All-work chats only. A source assigned to one project cannot be requested from another project’s chat.
Choose a note.
Choose a meeting from the source list. Load more if needed, then select Add source. Only the note you select is imported; repeat for additional meetings.
Check the import.
Choose Add source, then inspect its coverage and Last complete sync. Use Sync now to refresh it. Ask a question in the project you assigned, or an All-work chat if you chose All-work chats only.
Start with something you know
Check the connection.
Find what we said about the launch in the Granola note I selected.
Compare the answer with the original note and transcript. Treat a generated summary as a summary, and verify important statements against the transcript.
Data and permissions.
Doppel reads original note and transcript content directly through Granola’s API. Imported content is stored and processed locally; this connection does not send your questions to Granola’s hosted chat.
Current limits
Read-only. Accessible notes depend on the key’s scopes and sharing permissions. Anonymous speaker labels do not establish someone’s identity. API access requires a supported paid Granola plan.
Disconnect or change access.
In Settings → Integrations → Manage sources, select this account. Choose Remove source to remove one imported source, or the account menu → Disconnect account to remove its credentials and selected imports. Provider originals remain unchanged. Saved chats and exports are separate; revoke an API key at the provider if you also want to invalidate it there.
If something isn’t working.
API keys or notes are unavailable
Confirm Business or Enterprise access and ask your administrator about enabled API scopes. Personal notes access must include the note owner’s accessible notes; public notes must be shared to the workspace.
