When Doppel uses
the internet.
Local AI does not upload your prompts or source content to a hosted model. These features make their own requests outside your Mac.
Web search and weather
A web search sends your query to a search provider. Queries can include details from your request. Weather sends a place name or coordinates to Open-Meteo; using your current location requires permission.
Accounts you connect
A connected service receives the requests needed to read or act on your information. Sending a message, creating a file, or updating a record sends that content to the destination you approve. Some sign-ins use Doppel’s authorization relay.
Setup and updates
Downloading AI files and checking for app updates contact the download hosts. They receive file requests and ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, rather than your work library.
Purchases and licenses
Paddle handles checkout. Doppel’s licensing service receives the purchase and device-key information needed to manage access. Your notes, transcripts, prompts, and search history are not part of licensing.
Support you request
A diagnostic export stays on your Mac. You can inspect it before sharing it with support. Crash reports are sent only when you choose to send one; there is no automatic background submission.
Exports and other tools
When you export, share, or use a connected tool, the selected information goes to the recipient you choose. Separately configured backups and cloud-synced folders follow their own settings.
Providers can receive ordinary connection information when you use their services. Read the privacy policy for provider details, retention, and how to make a privacy request.

Choose files and folders. Enable screen or meeting recording only when you want those features. Review permissions in Settings → Privacy & sources → App access.
What a chat uses.
Keep a chat focused on its project or draw on all your permitted work. Open the sources to inspect the background behind an answer.
What you share.
Review destinations and content before approving an external action. Disconnect accounts in Settings → Integrations and manage retained content separately.
Changing or canceling your plan does not delete local memory. Source removal and retention are separate controls in Settings.
