Google Drive

Before you start.

A Google account that can open the files you want to use.

What you can do

• Search and read Drive files and inspect sharing information.
• Create a new file in Drive after you review and approve the action.

Connect Google Drive.

1. Find Google Drive in Doppel.

   Open Settings → Integrations → Add integration. Select Google Drive, then Connect.

2. Choose the services you want.

   In Connect Google, enable Drive. Mail, Calendar, and Drive share an account connection; leave any services you don’t want turned off.

3. Choose your Google account.

   Sign in to the account whose information you want to use. Review Google’s requested permissions and approve your selected services. A work account may need administrator approval.

4. Return to Doppel.

   Finish the browser authorization, then return to Settings → Integrations. Check that access was granted before trying the example below.

Choose what to remember.

With Pro or the trial, use Manage sources to remember selected content and assign it to a project. This is an additional, separately authorized connection.

1. Open Manage sources.

   Go to Settings → Integrations → Manage sources. In Selected sources, choose Add account. This is separate from Add integration.

2. Add the source account.

   Select the service and give the account a label. Sign in to the account that owns the source, or approve macOS access for Apple Calendar and Reminders. This account is stored separately from your primary integration connection.

3. Choose where the source belongs.

   Select Choose source. Set Use in to the intended Doppel project, or All-work chats only. A source assigned to one project cannot be requested from another project’s chat.

4. Select what to remember.

   Enter a source name and the Folder ID from the Google Drive folder URL.

5. Check the import.

   Choose Add source, then inspect its coverage and Last complete sync. Use Sync now to refresh it. Ask a question in the project you assigned, or an All-work chat if you chose All-work chats only.

What this imports

The selected folder and its subfolders. Supported text, PDF, Office, and exported Google documents are imported; shortcuts, unsupported formats, and files over 10 MB are excluded.

Check each source’s coverage and Last complete sync. If access becomes unavailable, the source is excluded from answers until a complete sync succeeds.

Data and permissions.

Searches and file requests go to Google. Read files on demand, or use Manage sources to import selected folders and subfolders into local memory. Creating a file sends its content to Google.

Current limits

Drive access follows your account permissions. This connector creates new files; it does not offer general editing or deletion of existing files. It reads supported text, PDF, Office, and exported Google documents, with a 10 MB extraction limit per file. For Google-native documents, the limit applies to the exported file.

Disconnect or change access.

Disconnecting any Google service disconnects the whole Google account: Gmail, Calendar, and Drive. Doppel removes locally indexed Gmail and stops requests through that Google connection. Calendar context already saved, retained chats, and exported files are separate. An account also connected through Apple Calendar can still supply events. To change selected services, use Change access instead; revoke the app in Google account settings if you also want to remove its provider-side authorization.

Selected-source accounts are separate. In Manage sources, remove an individual source or disconnect its account to remove those imported copies and credentials. Disconnecting the primary integration alone does not remove a separately authorized source account. Provider originals, saved chats, and exports are managed separately.
